Custom Field Template plugin [ English Here ]

Custom Field Template plugin （カスタムフィールドテンプレート）というプラグインはカスタムフィールドの入力を支援するプラグインだ。あらかじめカスタムフィールドのテンプレートを登録しておくことでキーをその都度入力することなく、テンプレートにある項目の値を入力していくだけでよくなる。このCustom Field Templateというプラグインは、WordPressのカスタムフィールドを多用し、決まったデータを入力し公開しているようなサイトでは便利になるはずだ。

特徴

Custom Field Template pluginは、Joshua Sigarさんが開発したrc:custom_field_guiというプラグインをベースに改良を加えたものである。rc:custom_field_guiからの変更点は以下のとおり。

カスタムフィールドのテンプレートを登録し、投稿ページでテンプレートを切り替えられる。
カスタムフィールドのテンプレートは設定ページで登録する。iniファイルは使用しない。
投稿だけでなくページでもカスタムフィールドを利用できる。
textareaでのtinyMCEのサポート

必須条件

WordPress 2.1 以上（WordPress 2.2.3以降でしか確認してない。）

インストール

Custom Field Templateをダウンロードし、圧縮ファイルを解凍後、custom-field-templateディレクトリをwp-content/pluginsディレクトリにアップロードする。
WordPressのプラグインページでCustom Field Templateを有効化する。
管理メニューの設定にある、カスタムフィールドテンプレートにて、テンプレートを登録する。

使用方法

ここではテンプレートの設定方法を記す。基本的にrc:custom_field_guiのものと同じ。まずはサンプルを見てもらおう。

まず、一つのセクションが一つのカスタムフィールドを指している。[]で囲まれているのがカスタムフィールドのキーである。typeには、textfield、checkbox、radio、select、textareaが指定できる。その他、size、value、default、rows、colsが適宜適用できるようになっている。とりあえず、色々試してみてほしい。

カスタムフィールドの入力は、投稿・ページの作成・編集時にテンプレートが表示されているはずなのでそこから行う。テンプレートはセレクトボックスで切り替えられるようになっている。

カスタムフィールドテンプレートのデザイン

デザインをCSSで変更できる（0.5.1より）。以下はデフォルトの設定。

カスタムフィールドテンプレートを投稿に表示するショートコード

[cft]を投稿欄に入力するとカスタムフィールドの値をまとめて表示する（0.7より）。output = true を指定した項目のみ表示。設定できるオプションは以下のとおり。

post_id
カスタムフィールドが関連付けられているpost_idを指定する。デフォルトは現在の投稿のpost_id。

template
TEMPLATE ID。カスタムフィールドテンプレートのIDを指定する。デフォルトは0。

ex) [cft post_id=10 template=1]

[cft]ショートコードフォーマットを使用する場合

FORMAT IDが指定された場合のみ、ショートコードフォーマットが使用される。それ以外は通常表示。TEMPLATE IDは無視される。

format
FORMAT ID。ショートコードフォーマットのIDを指定する。デフォルトはなし。

最後に

rc:custom_field_guiは古くからあるプラグインだが、すでに更新されておらず、もうひとつ使い勝手がよくなかった（設定を変更するのに一々iniファイルを編集する必要があった、など）。このプラグインを使用することで、データベース的に情報を整理するのにWordPressを利用している方の入力を少しでも楽にできればと思う。何か不具合とか、こういう機能を追加してほしい、というのがあればぜひ連絡してほしい。

Custom Field Template

The Custom Field Template plugin adds the default custom fields on the Write Post/Page. The template format is almost same as the one of the rc:custom_field_gui plugin. The difference is following:

You can set any number of the custom field templates and switch the templates when you write/edit the post/page.
This plugin does not use the ini file for the template but set it in the option page of the plugin.

Copy the `custom-field-template` directory into your `wp-content/plugins` directory
Activate the plugin through the `Plugins` menu in WordPress
Edit the options in `Settings` > `Custom Field Template`

How to use

This is the example of the template. The template format is basically same as the one of the rc:custom_field_gui plugin.

Each section means one custom field. The key of the custom field is between []. The types are textfield, checkbox, radio, select, and textarea. There are some other arbitrary options: size, default, value, rows, and cols. Just do by trial and error.

CSS design for custom field templates

You can change the design of custom field templates by use of CSS in the setting page. This is the default CSS.

[cft] Shortcode for viewing the values of custom field templates

Only shows the attributes which have `output = true`.

post_id
The default is current post_id.

template
TEMPLATE ID. The default is 0.

ex) [cft post_id=10 template=1]

[cft] Shortcode Format

Shortcode Format is applied only if the format attribute is set. TEMPLATE ID is ignored.

format
FORMAT ID. The defalut is null.

ex) [cft format=0]

This is a shortcode format example.

Hi Curtis,
Could you try to deactivate any other plugins except the custom field template plugin. Other plugins may affect the plugin. Let me know if the error still occur.

使用状況ですが
■「ネットワークで有効」時
□親サイト->動作OK
□子サイト->アップロード時の不具合発生

上記のような状態でしたので、プラグインを一旦停止後
■親サイトでのみ「有効」
□親サイト->動作OK
□子サイト->動作OK

現在子サイトの方ではカスタムフィールドを使わなくても良い状況ですが、今後子サイトでもカスタムフィールドを使うようになった際にこのプラグインを利用できれば、と考えています。

お手数お掛けしますがよろしくお願いいたします。

The custom field template supports the custom post type. Please try it by use of plugins like Custom Post Type UI.

You can make any number of templates. If you input the title and content, one more template will show up. So there is no limitation of the template number.

I didn’t realize I wasn’t subscribed to a comments feed, sorry it’s taken so long for me to get back to you…

It is (and was) the only plugin activated.

I also can’t seem to get an image to show up. I have a custom field called image, and the value of the field after uploading an image is just a number.

I was so happy when I found this plugin, I thought it would solve all my problems. It has solved *almost* all of my problems, so big thanks for that, but a major problem I have is that it’s not possible to use the TinyMCE editor while qTranslate is active.

I’m able to use the HTML editor okay, but the other people that use the blog are not very good with computers and are lost without TinyMCE.Is there are fix for this? It has been mentioned in the comments previously, but the problem is still there. Is there another WYSIWYG editor that could be used instead of TinyMCE?

i absolutely love your plugin! it has never failed me once. However this time i have a lot of text inputs which are looking pretty much alike. Label is not enough to describe the input.

i needed a way to add, for example, a h2 and p tag to the Template Content so my client would get some sort of instruction and visual reference as to what each field is for.

Im currently using fieldset_open and fieldset_close which did solve part of the issue . Am i missing something? Can i add some sort of note or p tag inside the Template Content?

Hi, i have send you the code by mail.

But i still have a problem. Looks like the vipers quicktag plugin doesn’t really work.

The buttons are there, but it’s the process in the them. I still see the tag instead of the video like [youtube] …

Is there a way to set a text field with the calculated value of 2 radio fields? I don’t know how to call the value of the radio button in the code=0 for the text field.

So if the radio value was selected as 50, then I want the text field to be 50*2 or 100.

Hi Mark,
I think you may use JavaScript for your purpose. You can set any JavaScript in the template instruction field. Of course you can do it by use of the `code` attribute. Please set the following into CODE #0:

$enforced_value = get_post_meta($_REQUEST['post'], 'radioname', true)*2;

hey guys, i have a question, as we love this plugin and want to use as a regular part of wordpress on any site:

How would you guys create a lets say X times the same custom field, whereas X is an undefined and endless number. meaning is it possible to add a custom field on the fly, if the editor needs it?
lets say we have photo section (and we define 4 fields for photos), and they want to add another picture (or another field)?

or would you just create a big textarea and seperate the image URLs with a seperator like
image1.png|image2.png| and then explode it in php? (that would work but is not very suitable for the regular content manager…)

i am wondering if this is possible:
image field: _____________ (link: add another image field) (-> and it creates another image field in the custom field template)

Hi Asil,

Please try to use `multiple` and `multipleButton` attributes. Unfortunately, checkbox and textarea types do not support the multiple options. I recommend you to use the file type with the multiple option. Thanks.

質問なのですが、FORMAT で、”PHP を使用する”というチェックボックスがあったので、

というようなことが出来るかなと思ってやってみたのですが、eval を使ってるからだと思いますが、当然動きませんでした。
上記のように、項目が設定されていない場合、そもそも表示自体を切り替えたり、などのことをしたい場合、どうやるのが良いやり方でしょうか？

[key] を直接PHPコードで比較はできないので、[key] という使い方はあきらめていただき、get_post_meta()などで呼び出して使用してください。よろしくお願いいたします。

I am using a modification to the theme functions page that allows me to use a shortcode to only display information in a post if someone is signed in.

Is there a way to implement shortcodes in a custom field template? i tried putting the shortcodes in and it just displays them as normal text. Thank you!

たびたびすいません。
使い方が間違っているのかもしれませんが、

フィールドのグループ機能の追加。`type = fieldset_open` と `type = fieldset_close`でグループに含めたいフィールドを囲む。
`fieldset_open`と`fieldset_close`のキーは統一する必要

とあったので、ためしに、

とやってみたところ、一見うまくいくのですが、なんどかやってるうちにatest_textの2件目以降のデータが消える、という現象が起きるみたいな気がします。

いろいろ検証してみたところ、

type = fieldset_open
multiple = true
multipleButton = true

[atest_text]
type = textfield

[atest_set]
type = fieldset_close

にすると問題がなくなる、みたいな感じでした。

ソースを追ってみたところではini ファイルのparse 周りで何かが起きているのかなとも思ったのですが、よくわかりませんでした。

ini ファイルを独自で解析しているように思えたのですが、
http://www.php.net/manual/ja/function.parse-ini-file.php
を使えば楽できそうな気もしますがどうでしょうか。

また上記問題についてなにか手がかりがあるようでしたら教えたいただければ幸いです。

うまくいっていない時の$_REQUEST の中を見ていると、

Hello,

there is a very strange bug in the current version (1.7.3) where it is impossible to add images to the_content on any CUSTOM post type. When pressing the “insert into post” button a blank page is shown and the image is not inserted.

However, inserting images into “regular” posts and pages works fine.

Any ideas? I see that 1.7.3 was supposed to be a bug fix for something similar?

[ctf]をページの投稿画面に追記したのですが、
表示にカスタムフィールドに入力した項目が
表示されません。
プラグインは有効、output = true を指定、
は確かめています。

テーマは、Arjuna X を使用しています。
テーマに依存するかとも考え、Twentytenに
切り替えて確かめましたが、やはり表示されません。

WordPress 3.01です。お気づきの点があれば、
アドバイスお願いします。

After recent updating, I lost TinyMec and HtmlEditor, ThemeSwitcher also missing. How can I gain it back?

I also have an issue with TinyMCE, the WYSIWYG editor, and even the HTML view :
Both don’t display or , but it’s okay with and links for example.
Even if I type the tag , it disapears when I save or switch to the html view to check the code.
As I need this plugin only to allow persons not familiar with html code, to be able to make a new line, I’m very disappointed … Is this a known bug or may I miss something ?

Ok I got it, U just have to hit the checkbox “Use the wpautop function” to allow automatic and in textarea …. as it’s the default WordPress behaviour I thought it would be enabled by default too, in this plugin.
Maybe U should explain this clearly at the top of the Option page of the plugin ?

はじめまして
Custom field Template plugin、大変便利に使わせていただいております。

今回WP3.0.1jaで利用させていただいているのですが、
カスタムポストタイプを作成し、それにあわせたCustom field Template pluginを設定しました。

テキスト項目等は特に問題ないのですが、
mediaButton=trueとして画像をアップロード&挿入できるように設定(textarea)した場合、
アップロードはできるものの、「投稿に挿入」ボタンが表示されず困っております。

同じテンプレートでカスタムポストタイプを設定せずに
通常の「投稿」にて使用する場合には「投稿に挿入」ボタンが表示されるので
カスタムポストタイプとCustom field Template pluginの連携が上手くいっていないように思います。
※デフォルトテンプレートでもカスタムポストタイプで使用する場合、同様の現象が起こります。

対応方法などご教授いただけると幸いです。
